Bringing Service Learning Into the Classroom
Classrooms around the community can get in on giving back thanks to ReVision Gives Back honoree, See Kids Dream.
See Kids Dream is a nonprofit bringing FREE service-based learning to elementary students. A complete curriculum is provided to educators that encourages students to get involved in their communities. As a class, students choose one cause they are passionate and connect with a local nonprofit also committed to the same mission.
Providing Support to Educators
See Kids Dream provides training and ongoing support to teachers while implementing the programming including connections with an appropriate nonprofit that addresses the topic chosen by the classroom. Students then ‘interview’ the nonprofit to learn what the organization is doing to help the cause and ask how the students can help.
Service Learning Funds Fellow Local Non-Profits
With the help of elementary students in classrooms across Central Ohio, See Kids Dream has donated over $470,000 to fellow area nonprofits. Service projects are carefully developed by each classroom to raise monetary donations, collect in-need items, and facilitate hands-on volunteer opportunities to support the chosen nonprofit. All proceeds are donated directly to the organization. *WATCH VIDEO* to learn how nonprofits can become recipients of classroom service project donations.
The ReVision Gives Back donation will help ensure See Kids Dream can continue to provide service-based curriculum and support to teachers and students at no charge. ReVision proudly supports this initiative and believes it is truly planting the seeds for future leaders in philanthropy.
